Terms of service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of madminerals.com and any purchase you make from Mad Minerals Inc. By placing an order or using this website, you agree to these terms in full. If anything is unclear, reach out before you buy — we'd rather talk it through than have a misunderstanding after the fact.

1. Orders, Payments & Pricing

All prices on this website are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD). For your convenience, prices may also be displayed in US dollars (USD) using the currency selector on the site. USD pricing is an estimate based on the current exchange rate and is provided for reference only — all transactions are processed and charged in CAD. The final amount billed in USD (or any other currency) will be determined by your bank or card provider at the time of processing, and may differ slightly from the displayed estimate due to exchange rate fluctuations and foreign transaction fees. Mad Minerals Inc. is not responsible for any currency conversion charges applied by your financial institution.

Prices are subject to change without notice, but any price in effect at the time your order is confirmed will be honoured.

By placing an order, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that the payment information you provide is accurate and authorized for use. Mad Minerals Inc. reserves the right to cancel or refuse any order at its discretion — including in cases of pricing errors, suspected fraud, or inability to verify payment.

Orders are not confirmed until you receive a written order confirmation from us. All pieces are made to order — confirmation is sent after your consultation and deposit is received.

We accept payment via major credit cards and any other methods listed at checkout. Full payment (or the applicable deposit for custom orders) is required before production begins. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify's payment infrastructure.

Custom order payment methods: For custom and made-to-order pieces, additional payment options are available. Canadian clients may pay by Interac e-Transfer. US-based clients may pay by domestic or international bank wire. These payment methods are available for custom orders only and are not accepted for standard checkout purchases. Payment details will be provided during your consultation. Production does not begin until funds have been received and confirmed.

Applicable taxes (GST/HST/PST) will be calculated and added at checkout based on your shipping address. For US orders, duties and brokerage fees are covered by Mad Minerals Inc. on qualifying shipments as described in Section 4. Mad Minerals Inc. is not responsible for any additional import fees or taxes assessed by customs authorities outside of Canada and the United States — those are the buyer's responsibility.

2. Returns, Exchanges & Resizes

We stand behind everything we make. If something isn't right, we want to fix it.

Returns: Every piece at Mad Minerals is made to order. As such, all sales are final once production has begun. If your order has not yet entered production, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to accommodate a cancellation. Once production is underway, we are unable to accept returns except in the case of a manufacturing defect or an item that does not match the agreed specifications — in which case we will remake or repair the piece at no cost to you.

Exchanges: We offer exchanges for a different item within the same category (e.g., ring for ring, pendant for pendant) within 30 days of delivery, provided the original piece has not been worn or altered and is returned in its original packaging. Because all pieces are made to order, exchanges are subject to a new production timeline. Any difference in price will be charged or refunded accordingly.

Resizes: Every engagement ring purchase includes one complimentary resize, including two-way shipping. Resize requests must be made within 12 months of purchase. Subsequent resizes are available at a service fee. Note that certain ring styles (e.g., eternity bands with full diamond coverage) may have limited resize capability — we'll advise you during consultation.

Damaged or incorrect items: If your order arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order number. We will cover all costs to make it right.

To initiate a return, exchange, or resize, email us at info@madminerals.com with your order number and reason for the request.

3. Made to Order & Final Sale

Every piece sold by Mad Minerals Inc. is made to order. Nothing is held in inventory. Each ring, pendant, and fine jewelry piece is handcrafted specifically for you after your order is placed and confirmed. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept that your piece will be produced to your specifications and is therefore final sale.

Orders require a non-refundable deposit (typically 50% of the total order value) to begin production. The remaining balance is due prior to shipping. By paying your deposit, you confirm approval of the agreed design, specifications, and total price.

Once production has begun, we cannot accept cancellations. If you need to make a change after production has started, contact us immediately — we'll do our best to accommodate minor adjustments, but cannot guarantee changes once fabrication is underway.

Orders are not eligible for return or exchange except in the case of a manufacturing defect or an item that does not match the agreed specifications. In those cases, we will remake or repair the piece at no additional cost to you.

Upgrade Policy: Clients who have previously purchased an engagement ring from Mad Minerals Inc. may apply the original purchase price toward an upgraded ring of greater value. Upgrades are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the condition of the original piece.

4. Shipping & Liability

Mad Minerals Inc. offers complimentary shipping on all orders within Canada and the United States. All jewelry is shipped fully insured and with signature confirmation required upon delivery.

US orders — duties & brokerage fees: All Mad Minerals jewelry is handcrafted in Canada and qualifies as Canadian-originating goods under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). Qualifying orders shipped to the United States are therefore eligible for duty-free entry. Mad Minerals Inc. will cover all applicable brokerage fees on qualifying shipments to the US, so the price you pay is the price you pay — no surprise charges at the door. In the rare event a shipment is assessed duties or fees by US Customs for reasons outside our control, we will work with you to resolve it.

Estimated production and delivery timelines are provided in good faith. All pieces are made to order — production timelines will be communicated at the time of order confirmation and vary depending on the complexity of the piece. Mad Minerals Inc. is not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs processing, weather events, or circumstances beyond our control.

Risk of loss and title for items pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. Once a package has been confirmed delivered by the carrier (including signature confirmation), Mad Minerals Inc. is not liable for loss, theft, or damage occurring after delivery.

For international orders outside Canada and the United States, please contact us before ordering. Additional shipping charges, duties, and customs fees may apply and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Mad Minerals Inc. is not responsible for losses arising from incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer. Please review your shipping details carefully before completing your order.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or any applicable federal statute.
